When recording live on location, it’s essential to have enough channels to get isolated tracks of every instrument & vocalist. Equipped with 24+ channels of high end preamps & Dante based recording equipment, we can capture nearly anything on location!

When recording, monitoring plays a critical role in being able to play well. Using Dante based headphone amps, we have a high quality and quck to deploy monitoring solution for musicians. Having the capability for more than 6 headphone mixes, everyone can have their own mix
Built for Working on Location
Having years of experience working on location in the film industry, I’ve built my recording equipment package around being able to work efficiently on location. This means everything is on wheels, in protective cases, and the equipment is built for quick deployment on location. We don’t even need AC power to record!

Mobile Recording Services FAQ
Do I provide the recording space?
While there are a couple of studio spaces I regularly work with, ultimately the client is responsible for any costs or fees associated with the recording location. This could be a space unique to you, a cabin in the woods, an Airbnb, a concert hall, or wherever else. I am always happy to discuss options for recording spaces and can provide some insight whether a space is a good option or not.
Do you have a recording studio?
Yes and no. I have an ongoing partnership with another recording studio that I’m happy to book time at, but I do not own a studio space myself. This means I’m flexible and can record out of any recording studio that allows for outside engineers, or we can set up a recording studio on location anywhere!
What does the process of recording music with Henri Rapp look like?
That varies a bit project to project, but ultimately it starts with a conversation where we develop a plan for your recordings, from there we can move forward with tracking & mixing your music. You can learn more about my music production process here.
How does a recording studio and mobile recording service differ?
The environment is the biggest difference, while studios are limited to one specific acoustic space, with mobile recording services we can record anywhere! The space plays a huge part in the tonal palette of a recording, and being able to taylor the space to fit your recordings can have a huge impact on the end results. Beyond that, I try and keep the mobile recording experience the same as a traditional recording studio experience for my clients.
Why record with a mobile studio on location?
Every acoustic space is unique and it impacts the end sound of your recordings. Taking an “embrace the space” approach to recording, we can create powerful recordings of your music that has it’s own unique sonic aesthetic. Too many recording suffer from a “cookie cutter” sound that doesn’t stand out. Breaking out of this mold, and going to a space that suites your music and provides an inspiring performance space will ensure your captured performances are memorable.
What kind of turn around can I expect from recording to final mixes?
We always want to get recording projects completed quickly but each project’s timeline can vary depending on the scope of the project or the timeline of our clients are on. If you have a deadline you need it by, we are happy to work with you in order to meet that. Just let us know ahead of time and we will plan to make sure that is
Can you fix mistakes?
Yes….within reason. While we can punch in alternate takes, adjust performance timing, and do other audio sorcery; often times it’s more time efficient to simply do another take until to get the performance that is needed. While not everything can be fixed, we will work with you to get to a product we can both be proud of. If recording each instrument in isolation we can punch in individual part, but for sessions where sources bleed into one another we are limited to editing multiple full performances together.
